6. You learn to be independent.
Whether you are travelling alone or in a group, you realise how you are the sole person responsible for your actions as well as your safety, and learn to take charge of your own life. It is a very liberating feeling indeed!

It’s not always possible to travel luxuriously, or to be able to carry every amenity that you might need. You learn to make do with what you have, what you can find, and what you can easily do without.
8. You learn to value what you have.
When you’re away from home, you miss being in your own space, in your comfort zone, with your loved ones, and you realise how for granted you have taken the life that you’ve been living all these years. That’s when you start realizing their value.
