Ways In Which Being Sure About Everything Is Overrated

5. Stuff that is ‘meant for you’ is something you’ll realise over time.

You can’t be sure of what is meant for you and what isn’t unless you give it a shot. It’s simple – you can’t be sure if you’ll be able to pull off a little black dress until you try one. Or if taking a sabbatical and going to volunteer in a school was really worth it. These things only time will tell you.

6. Life is better without a plan.

Honestly, it’s very tough to achieve certainty. At the same time, certainty is overrated. Always doing the usual, correct, this-is-what-I-should-do stuff will make your life boring.

7. The desire for clarity is stopping you from trying.

If you’re always driven to be sure about things, then you will never ever want to try anything different, new or unique. You can do everything you think of, but your comfort zone is becoming a barrier.

8. Things can go wrong even if you are certain.

Being sure can backfire too. As human beings, we are all scared of change and so we try our best to keep things going the way they are. We like the status quo. Some people continue living in the same city because they are afraid of altering their lifestyle. But life is funny that way, and fortunately or unfortunately, it’s perfectly normal for things to go wrong despite you having planned everything.
