11 Habits That Are Actually Bad But Better For Something

9. Using filler words

Don’t refrain from using the ‘um’ and the ‘uh’ in your sentences. It may sound unprofessional but research shows that using filler words such as these can help your listeners really listen and remember what you said after you are done saying. Another study complemented this claim by suggesting that people who use filler words are more hardworking. Keep filling those gaps!

10. Daydreaming

This one’s my favourite. Take it as a precursor to zoning out. Letting your mind wander unfettered is one of the best services you will do to yourself. By gatecrashing into an alternate universe, you can boost your problem-solving skills. It may delay your task at hand but you may end up doing the task better than before you travelled to your mind palace. Daydreaming can make you more creative and that’s what we all want to be, don’t we?

11. Tune out

To be able to accomplish all of the above, it’s important you pluck the plugs from the socket. Whether it’s switching off your mobile or your brain, you need to recharge your batteries. You may have heard this a gazillion times before but reading a book, listening to music, hiking in the mountains are activities that refresh your soul. Take as much time off to tune out from the mundane. Only then will you be able to fully appreciate your ‘bad’ habits.
