Excessive sweating can make us blush and feel ashamed. Products such as tomatoes, cabbage or coffee increase sweating and make the smell of the sweat stronger and sharper. But there are products that can decrease it. Here are products you should add to your diet in order to get rid of bad body odor and feel more confident.
1. Coconut oil
This is one of the most effective products which can give your body a pleasant smell. Coconut oil has antimicrobial properties which constrain the growth of bacteria, while the lauric acid in its composition destroys the pungent odor. The sweat itself won’t disappear. For best results, apply the oil to the armpit area 1-2 times per day after taking a shower.
2. Lemon and other citrus fruits
The antiseptic properties of lemon help to eliminate armpit odors. Lemon juice can also be used to control bad breath caused by harmful bacteria. If your stomach can handle it, drink a glass of lemon water in the morning, to control bad breath. Alternatively, you can also squeeze 1/2 of a lemon, and rub it underneath your feet or armpits, letting them dry and taking a shower.
3. Fenugreek seeds
The seeds of this plant act as an antioxidant. They eliminate toxins from the body and prevent infections that cause bad smells to spread. To get the desired result, dilute 1 teaspoon of seeds with boiled water and let it brew. This can be ingested after 6 to 8 hours. The seeds can also be added to tea.
4. Neem leaves
Neem is a valuable medicinal herb which has been used in Ayurvedic medicine. Its leaves have antifungal, antibacterial and antiseptic effects. Because of these things, neem promotes complete removal of bacteria and toxins, which cause unpleasant odors and reduces sweating. Neem leaves can be used in the same way as fenugreek seeds. Alternatively, you can also turn the powder from neem leaves to mush with the help of water, applying it to the armpits and leaving it there for a few minutes. Then rinse it off when taking a shower or a bath and perform this procedure three times per week for a better result.
5. Wheatgrass
Wheatgrass juice contains a large amount of protein, vitamin C, B12, B6, and folic acid. Furthermore, it is a powerful natural antioxidant that makes it very effective when fighting unnecessary body odor. You can either eat it fresh, about 40g per day, or as a powder, about 3g per day.
6. Parsley
This popular folk remedy for treating unpleasant body odor has a high content of chlorophyll and also has a deodorizing effect. The herb helps cleanse the body and fights bacteria that makes the body smell bad. Parsley can successfully fight sulfur compounds. You can either use parsley in salads or hot dishes or brew its dried stems and leaves to get rid of bad body odor.
