That our beloved Maggi faced a ban due to excessive amounts of monosodium glutamate (MSG), we have to substitute our favourite snack with other alternatives. Not that they taste like Maggi, but you can try making the following recipes instead of the 2-minute snack.
1. Bhurji
All you need is some fluffy pav or bread and you’re all set to kill the hunger.
2. Chana Masala
Boil chickpeas, preferably black chickpeas and add some onions, chaat masala, tomatoes and chilli. Chana masala is a very healthy alternative to fast food.
3. Khichdi
Moong dal khichdi, made in ghee, is a healthy, comfort food. It will take more time than Maggi, but it will definitely satiate your hunger.
4. Macaroni
Mac and cheese, the American comfort food can also be another alternative to our beloved Maggi!
5. Oats Chilla
A chilla is a good way to introduce oats in your diet. All you have to do is replace the besan batter with crushed oats and you’re done.
6. Omlette
Nothing like a good old omelette to keep hunger at bay.
7. Dahi Vada
Vadas in cool, sweet curd is a perfect snack for your night cravings.
8. Soup
And by that, we don’t mean the ready-to-eat soup. Take out time to make a healthy bowl of soup with veggies and chicken.
9. Bhel
Stock some puffed rice in the kitchen. Whip up a quick bhel by putting peanuts, sev, onions and masala when hungry!
10. Chinese Bhel
Freshly-fried noodles tossed in with shredded vegetables and soya sauce can be your next midnight snack.
11. Chapati Noodles
What do you do with some leftover chapatis? You make chapati noodles. Make thin strips of leftover chapatis and fry them in the mixture of onion, tomato, carrot, green chilli, oil and soy sauce.
