Hey there,
As I am writing this letter to you, I can’t help but think of how you must be sitting on the couch I sat on, sipping coffee from the mug that I wouldn’t let anyone else touch, sleeping on the bed that I spent endless nights on.. with a man who was once, madly in love with me.
You’d think I’d be angry at you or curse you for doing what you did to me. As much as I wanted to do all of that when I got to know that he was cheating on me with you, I realize now that it would be unfair on my part to solely blame you for what happened, especially since I have always believed that it’s never one single and isolated factor that is responsible for the failure of relationship. There are so many things that goes into making a relationship fall apart such as misunderstanding, lack of communication, a sheer unwillingness to understand each other, even one’s ego, that just blaming the ‘other woman’ seems a bit redundant.
I won’t deny that it has been supremely excruciating for me to accept the fact that the man who I loved chose to walk out of something that we built over endless conversations, arguments, sleepless nights, long trips and so much more. But this isn’t about me anymore – it’s about you and him. As a woman who had been literally been thrown away, I am writing this to you from one woman to another.
He CHOSE to run away – run away from emotions, from confrontations, from intensity, from love, from anything and everything real that we had. And if he could do that to me, there’s no reason why he won’t do that to you as well. Now I’m sure that he won’t fail to make you feel like the luckiest woman in the world, but hold on before you start planing to spend a lifetime together, because the moment shit starts getting real and you start facing normal couple problems, he’ll be reaching for the door faster than the speed of light. Instead of talking through problems and resolving them, he’ll be looking for someone else to replace you with, just like he found you to replace me with.
So here’s just a little piece of advice that I wish someone had given to me before I met him – do not fall prey to his charms and the sweet nothings he whispers in your ear. Trust me when I say this, and think twice before you decide to label him your soul mate. You’ll thank me letter.
With love,
His ex.
